Timmy

Hey there Timmy,

How's the big guy doing? We are getting along fine here, but I truly wanted to check in on you. I know you are starting school now, and that's always a big change. It's going to be a big change for you every year, even bigger if you move. But fortunately you don't have to worry about that part this year. Still 4th grade is a big year. You are one step closer to jr. high school, and one step away from kindergarten. How is it going. I know it's early, but if there is anything I can do to help you let me know.

I am also wondering about sunday school. I k now they don't assign homework like regular school. And you don't have to think about it except once a week, but is it going okay? I know when I was your age there was plenty I didn't understand, and as your godfather, I feel it's my duty to help you out. I know from experience that just going to church doesn't really help you out with what your faith is all about, so please let me know any questions you have about god. Or something that comes up in sunday school that you don't understand. While I don't understand God and the church completely, I will gladly help you any way I can. I will tell you right now that you will not learn everything you need to understand the church merely by going. If you have questions, ask them. Ask your sunday school teacher, ask me, ask the priest, ask your parents, ask everybody you can think of. There are too many people who miss out on God because they try to answer the big questions themselves. And to be honest sometimes we don't have the answers to the big questions. But it is better to ask the big questions and have help finding the answers than to keep them bottled up inside and finally decide there are no answers.

So that was a little heavy, but on the plus side, I'm going to be seeing you in a month or so. Thanksgiving is coming up, so you better get the old ball out and practice with your dad, because I am going to put you through your paces this year. It's good writing to you, and I am looking forward to seeing you again. Please feel free to write or call me about anything you think you need to talk about. I'm pulling for you kiddo.

with god's and my love,
Uncle Pher
